Contact information: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, employer, job title, and LinkedIn URL.

Application and enrollment information: educational background, work experience, certifications held, career goals, target salary, and answers to qualifying-application questions.

Payment information: when you purchase a course or service, payment details are collected by our payment processors (Stripe and PayPal). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers; we receive only a transaction ID, last four digits, and authorization status.

Account information: login credentials, course progress, and content you submit during training (assignments, profile drafts, recorded coaching sessions where applicable).

Communications: emails, support tickets, chat messages, and survey responses you send to us.

Marketing preferences: your newsletter subscription status and consent choices.

Course progress and certificate records: indefinitely, so we can verify completion if asked.

Marketing data: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression period afterward to honor your opt-out.

Payment transaction records: at least seven (7) years to comply with U.S. tax and financial recordkeeping rules.

When we no longer have a legitimate need to keep your information, we will delete, anonymize, or aggregate it.

8.3 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights, including:

Right to delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.

Right to correct inaccurate personal information.

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

IT Industry Tools is based in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our vendors operate. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 or older and for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
